When we are young, we are taught to dream big. Shoot for the stars! Anything is possible.
I, in particular, grew up with an idealist for a dad. He was Don Quixote in the flesh. Always dreaming. Always inspiring those in his wake. So naturally, when I got older and left the house, I remained in a world where I thought anything was possible.
Then I moved to LA.
In LA I struggled for years. Pursuing an acting career. Trying my hardest but seeming to get nowhere. My idealist view of the world, over time, became tainted.
After 8 years I decided to let go and move on to other adventures. My desire to perform never went away but instead morphed into other forms of expression like writing and supporting other artists through WANA International.
And I was finally okay with the fact that I may never work in Showbiz again. I’d let go of all my ideas of what my life should be and just let it flow.
Then I got the call a week ago that I’d booked my first TV hosting job.
After reveling in the excitement of such amazing and unexpected news I was floored by how funny life can be! Here I tried for so long and so hard and finally by giving up, my dream came true.
Guess all those months of blogging about letting go actually sunk in. 😉
So I am here to tell you today to never give up. If there is something in your life that you are truly passionate about, something that you must express to this world, in this lifetime, keep doing it. Keep at it. But realize there is real power in letting go. And it may very well be what you need to do in order to get what you want.
So where are you at in your journey? Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel? Have you ever witnessed the power of letting go in your life?
Congrats Ingrid!! 🙂
Thanks Coleen!
It is interesting when, seemingly, we drop a dream only to have it resurface. Perhaps it really is more of a matter of being too attached to an outcome and once we let that go, everything is possible.
Congratulations, Ingrid! What a wonderful door has opened for you.
Karen
Thank you Karen 🙂 Just like the old saying, if you love something let it go. And if it comes back it was meant to be. It’s all about trust. 🙂
Congratulations, Ingrid.
Thank you David!
Congrats on your new opportunity! Thanks for inspiring us, yet again. 🙂
Thank you August! It was great finally getting to meet you 🙂 Hope to see you soon in LA!
Congratulations on your new job! Wishing you the best in your new endeavor and the exciting new path your starting on!

OMG, Ingrid! Squeeeeee!!!!!!
he he 🙂
Ingrid as I keep discovering you are an inspiration above all things. Congratulations on the gig but even greater congratulations on the journey.
Thank you Renee! Love you girl 😉
Ingrid! Squeeeee! Congratulations! I’m a firm believer in changing directions. It’s like what they say about finding a man: when you are looking, you’ll never find him – but the moment you decide you are done looking, there he is! I’m super excited that your dreams are starting to come true. Can’t wait to hear more about your TV stuff!
Is that sort of like the right man is always in the last place you look? Like your keys? 🙂
I totally had that experience where men are concerned, though. Now if I could only find my keys . . .
They are with that other sock? The one the dryer eats.
LOL. They must be.
You guys are too funny 😉 Thank you Renée! It’s very exciting!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you!
Thank you Addy!
Fantastic news, so glad to hear that dreams do come true! Congratulations 🙂
Thank you Alarna 🙂
So proud of you!!!
Thanks Ma!
Congratulations, Ingrid! Sometimes it’s not the dream that must change but how it is manifested. Looking forward to seeing more!
Love that George 🙂 Thank you!
Awesome, Ingrid, I bet you’re bouncing off the walls. Tell us all about it when you get settled in.
Cheers!
Yes! Let’s get together soon!
Congrats! Very exciting.
Thank you Lisa 🙂
Congrats! That is wonderful news and an inspiration for all of us 🙂
Thank you Marcy!
Congratulations Ingrid. Well done. You deserve to have your dream come true. I used to write poetry when I was in School with a dream of becoming a famous writer one day. I have not realised that dream yet, but I am loving the path I am trying to get there!
You are an inspiration to all the dreamers of this world.
Thank you so much 🙂 Here’s to YOUR dreams coming true!
Hi,
Thanks for the encouragement. I have just read August’s blog and she recommended your blog posting. Glad I took the time to read it. Good luck at your TV hosting job. You are so right, dreams do come true and mine will also. I am going to keep holding on as I move along.
Once again, thanks.
Ciao,
Patricia
You’re welcome Patricia! I just love August 😉 And yes… if your dreams are truly something that live within your heart and are something you feel passionate about that you must express to this world, I believe you’ll achieve your dream. I wish you all the best 🙂
wonderful post! Big congrats! It’s funny you mentioned “letting go” … every time I say ” ok, that’s it it’s not going to happen” .. I get a call or a letter .. like the last one from President Obama : )
